FOX names new General Manager of WZTV

Steve Marks, Co-Chief Operating Officer of  Sinclair Broadcast (television) Group announced that they have named Noreen O’Mara Parker as General Manager of Nashville’s WZTV FOX and WUXP MyNet market. The position will also have Parker oversee sales and other non-programming related services of WNAB, Nashville’s CW due to a joint sales and shared services agreement between the two networks. Marks said at the time of the announcement,  “We are pleased to assign Noreen to our Nashville stations.  She brings considerable sales, news and digital media management experience, and we are confident in her ability to expand the stations’ value proposition to the local advertisers and viewers.”

Parker had been General Manager of Sinclair’s station WTTA (MyNet) in Tampa Florida since 2012, and before that was the Corporate Director of News and Digital Media Sales for Bright House Networks, having served there since 2009. With a career including owning Parker Marketing and Communications, Parker has worked in various stations sales and management positions including as President and General Manager of WTSP (CBS) in Tampa.

Parker comes to Nashville with vast experience to one of Nashville’s most prominent television stations. FOX network is known to have in-the-present programming, realistic and in sync with current times, events and growth, especially in a social aspect. The new General Manager is eager to work with such a strong station, whose air presence is solid in the community.

This reporter is certain Nashville will welcome such a strong, successful business presence into the community, and of course, will welcome her involvement in all things Nashville does to help our diverse community. Parker has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh and has graduated the NAB Executive Development Program at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, as well as the Center for Creative Leadership Executive Leadership Program.

One of the biggest and most diversified television broadcasting groups in the United States, Sinclair Broadcasting Group owns and operates programs (or provides sales services to) 162 television stations in 79 markets, including Nashville and Chattanooga.  The Sinclair television  group reaches about 37.5% of the households across the United States and  includes FOX, ABC, MYTV, CBS, NBC, Univision and Azteca affiliates.

WZTV, Sinclair’s Nashville station, has won several awards in the industry, including 1st Place for Best Short Light Feature – Ian Bailey, 1st Place for Best Long Light Feature – Erika Lathon, Kyle Benton and 2nd Place Best TV Newscast – David Ditmore, Sara Shiverdecker. WZTV programming features FOX programming including first-run reality, talk and court shows and recent sitcoms. Fox programming, first-run reality, talk and court shows, and recent sitcoms. Some of the shows included in the WZTV line-up are The Wendy Williams Show, Divorce Court, Maury, The Steve Wilkos Show and Paternity Court. The station also runs hours of news and sports, including the Tennessee Titans All Access.
