Christmas Day, Where to go, What to Eat

There never seems to be enough time to do all the things you want to do before today, December 25, CHRISTMAS DAY finally arrives. And here you are, Christmas breakfast  long digested, your big Christmas lunch or dinner gobbled up like there was no tomorrow and beautiful wrapping paper torn off of gifts so quickly, you didn’t even see it happen – and you have hours left to entertain your family,  friends or holiday guests who are staying until the New Year. You didn’t get to go drive around looking at Christmas lights or see a holiday play or movie or any of that fun pre-Christmassy stuff. So, you put on your standard holiday CD and doze off… No! Don’t do that. You didn’t know that Christmas is not over until New Year’s Eve? At least that’s the case in Nashville. There is a plethora of things you can do and see around the city all through the rest of the year. And in fact, if you want to do it the really easy way, just head to Gaylord Opryland Resort and do it all in one place. This more-than-a-hotel is the perfect place to hang out for a full day or night, even overnight, of Christmas cheer, trees galore and fun for any age. Note from Linda Brewer:

Hi Guys!  I just wanted you to know that this reporter (namely; myself, moi, me, Linda)  has experienced every one of Opryland Hotel’s events when spending a couple holiday days there at the hotel for a couple years in a row. It is incredible. The deluxe rooms, the Southern Hospitality offered throughout the hotel, the diverse list of things going on in the hotel along, enough that for three days, we never left the hotel and had a blast; it’s like being on a cruise. Having said all that, I must admit that the Interactive Breakfast, that year with the DreamWorks characters also, I believe, was the most fun. The huge buffet breakfast was beyond fabulous and the characters were so onpoint, it was amazing. I had my picture taken with Princess Fiona and Puss in Boots. If I could lay my hands on that, they would accompany this article. This hotel is a shopping center, food destination, entertainment destination and a great place to lay your weary head, all wrapped up into one neat little package, wrapped with sophistication and holiday cheer, all tied with a gargantuan red velvet bow. Don’t miss all the Christmas trees exhibited throughout the hotel, the riverboat and the breathtaking nativity scene on the lawn.  You won’t regret this holiday adventure one bit, especially if you stay overnight, or two, or three!
